Girls Rock campers holding signs with lyrics on stage

Welcome to Girls Rock Austin

We are dedicated to empowering girls, gender-expansive, and BIPOC youth ages 8 to 17 through music education and mentorship!

GRA firmly believes that financial, physical, and social barriers shouldn't prevent campers from gaining self-esteem, self-efficacy, and agency in creative expression. That’s why we provide scholarships and financial assistance for every single program.

GIRLS ROCK AUSTIN has evolved significantly since its inception, transitioning from a modest summer day camp to a powerful movement impacting the lives of thousands of youth each year.

With a focus on music, empowerment, and personal growth, we have expanded our programs to reach a broader audience and foster a community where any camper can thrive.

Our commitment to providing a safe, inclusive environment encourages participants to express themselves creatively and build valuable skills that last a lifetime. Through workshops, performances, and mentorship opportunities, GIRLS ROCK AUSTIN continues to inspire the next generation of leaders and musicians in Austin. As we celebrate over 15 years of growth and impact, we remain dedicated to our mission of empowering future rockstars through music and community engagement!

Girls Rock Austin is much more than a rock camp β€” it is a mentorship and social justice organization. Creativity, positivity, and community are key to personal and collective empowerment and positive social change. Significant portions of the week are dedicated to workshops where campers have facilitated discussions about topics affecting their daily lives, such as image and identity, self-defense, and healthy relationships. Dedicating time and a safe space to these discussions bolsters campers’ support networks and underlines the importance of creative expression. Additionally, they learn more expansive aspects of independent music culture via workshops on songwriting, screen printing, recording, and intersectional music history.
